Bardonecchia School Ski Trips

The Resort:

Nestled in the heart of the Italian Alps, Bardonecchia is a charming and authentic ski resort that offers the perfect blend of traditional alpine atmosphere and modern facilities. Located in the Piedmont region near the French border, Bardonecchia is easily accessible by coach or train, making it an ideal destination for school ski trips. The resort is one of the original alpine resorts of the 20th century that was revamped for the 2006 Winter Olympics. Bardonecchia boasts a welcoming village feel, safe pedestrian zones, and a compact layout that’s perfect for school groups.

Skiing in Bardonecchia:

Bardonecchia offers over 100km of varied pistes across three main ski areas: Colomion, Melezet, and Jafferau. With wide, tree-lined runs and high-altitude slopes reaching up to 2,800m, the resort caters to all abilities—from complete beginners to confident intermediates. The modern lift system ensures minimal queuing, and the excellent snow record is supported by extensive snowmaking. Dedicated beginner zones and English-speaking ski schools make it a fantastic learning environment for students.

For Schools Because:

Bardonecchia is a top choice for school ski trips thanks to its safe, student-friendly environment and excellent value for money. Accommodation is typically close to the slopes, reducing transfer times and simplifying logistics. Inspireski groups benefit from tailored packages that include ski hire, lift passes, lessons, and full-board accommodation. The resort’s compact size allows for easy supervision, and the local community is experienced in hosting school groups, ensuring a warm and supportive welcome.

Après Ski:

After a day on the slopes, Bardonecchia offers a wide range of après-ski activities to keep students entertained. Options include ice skating, snow tubing, pizza nights, quiz evenings, and disco nights—all organised with safety and fun in mind. Cultural excursions to nearby Turin or local Italian cooking classes can also be arranged, adding an educational twist to the trip. With a strong focus on group bonding and memorable experiences, Bardonecchia delivers both on and off the slopes.
