Ski Juwel: High-altitude skiing in the heart of Austria
The Resort:
The Ski Juwel resort is located in the heart of the Kitzbuheler Alps, in Tirol, Austria. The resort links two slopes of two high-altitude valleys to create a classic Austrian ski village with rustic wooden buildings, quaint churches, and gorgeous views. An efficient ski lift connects the Alpbachtal Valley to the Wildschonau to provide a large ski area filled with quality slopes.
Skiing in:
The resort’s large area allows for a range of slopes that cater to all abilities making it ideal for mixed ability groups. There is the added benefit of the majority of trials being above 1600m creating good conditions, downhill slopes, and spectacular views. The well-groomed slopes are surprisingly quiet meaning the majority of time is spent skiing rather than queuing. Ski Juwel’s longest run is an impressive 7km, and for those that enjoy longer trips, there are multiple cross-country ski trails. With the terrain being split into 4 sectors the accessibility across the resort is ideal for groups that may wish to spread out and regroup regularly throughout the day.
Skiing in Ski Juwel:
One benefit of the resort is its close location to Innsbruck allowing for great accessibility and the possibility of a day trip to the city. The public transport access to and from the resort also adds to its accessibility. The modern facilities and superb trails mean this is a truly top-quality destination for a school trip. The variety of slopes and beginner lifts available means that any ability of skier will enjoy their stay here.
Après Ski:
The cosy mountain huts and slope-side restaurants help to continue Juwel’s theme of a classic Alpine Austrian ski resort. The comforting food is a great excuse to take a break from the slopes and take in the magnificent views on offer. Tobogganing is another exhilarating activity to enjoy whilst hours can be spent in the fun parks in between time on the slopes.
