Le Massif School Ski Trips
Spectacular Vistas
The Resort:
Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, Le Massif resort has the highest altitude difference to the East of the Canadian Rockies. The city of Quebec is only an hour to the East but seems a world away in this stunning setting. Additionally, the resort is easy to travel around as it is accessible from the base and the summit.
Skiing in Le Massif:
The resort boasts the largest snowfall east of the Canadian Rockies, which means there is often an abundance of fresh powder snow, to create top-quality ski runs. There are a number of green and blue runs for beginner and intermediate level skiers, as well as long forest glade runs and steeper more adventurous slopes for advanced skiers. The Le Charlevoix trail has a gradient of 64% for those who have a love for speed. Many of the runs give skiers uninterrupted views of the magnificent mountains alongside the scenic river that snakes its way along the bottom of the valley.
For Schools Because:
Canadian ski instructors are renowned for their abilities, and any new skiers in your group are bound to be challenging themselves on the harder runs by the end of the trip. On top of this, the base lodge is unusually placed at the summit of the mountain meaning beginners start at the top and have the rare opportunity to explore the whole mountain whilst still developing and learning skills. There is also a ski and snowboard rental area allowing students to try both sports on their trip to ensure they enjoy their time as much as possible.
Après Ski:
The non-skiing snow activities are extremely numerous and attractive at Le Massif. There are cross-country trails, winter hiking trails, a toboggan run, snowshoe expeditions, and even an exhilarating 7.5km luge ride trail. This luge trail is even open at night for floodlit sledding – an adventure that you will remember for years. The resort also boasts some great culinary options, with some of the best food in Canada at Ski base areas, such as edible plants from the local forests.
