Sansicario School Ski Trips
Host of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games
As part of the 2006 Winter Olympics hosted in Turin, Sansicario has an extremely high reputation. Its strategic location close to the starting point of all the resorts in the Milky Way ski area helps provide links to Cesana, Sestriere, and Sauze d’Oulx. The scenery is also magnificent, with numerous fir tree-lined runs looking out across the mountains. Between these woods and mountains nestle many small villages to create a postcard-like view. The village of Sansicario itself is exceptionally located making it an easy location to travel to and from, perfect for school ski trips.
Skiing in Sansicario:
The resort is particularly attractive due to its large mix of runs. It is set in the centre of a huge natural bowl that offers gentle blue runs and long scenic routes (the longest being 9.7km) for intermediate skiers to explore. This helps provide a chilled atmosphere where students can learn to ski comfortably. For the more adventurous, there are off-piste runs on offer, as well as Olympic-level black runs. The 950 snow guns, exceptional sun exposure, and snow-sure climate result in outstanding skiing conditions and the ability to relax and sunbathe.
For schools Because:
Quiet and friendly, the resort has a lovely atmosphere, which is helped by it being traffic free, creating a safe environment to take large groups of students. The internationally staffed ski school and a number of gentle runs help cater for beginners, whilst the comfortable and efficient lift system and lack of crowds allow for as much time on the slopes as possible.
On top of the brilliant skiing facilities, there is a brilliant Snowpark where students can practice their freestyle skills. For a much-needed break during the day, there are numerous lunch spots that are of great value and have spectacular views. In the town itself, the shopping precinct is connected by covered walkways to create a safe and inviting atmosphere. There are also walking trails, an ice rink, and an indoor pool to enjoy during relaxation time.
