The resort:
Panorama is one of Canada’s premier resorts, nestled in the heart of British Columbia, in the region of the East Kootenay Regional District. The purpose-built mountain resort containing some of Canada’s longest runs that carve and cruise through the Rockies. The village of Panorama is charming and picturesque, settled between mountain peaks, making it a perfect choice for a Canadian mountain ski trip.
Skiing in Panorama:
With its tree line skiing and incredible powder snow Panorama is a one-in-a-lifetime resort to visit. The resort features an impressive 120 trails with the modern and comprehensive lift system, providing easy access and breathtaking views. Once you’re up on top of the slopes there are swathes of big mountain terrain with long and wide slopes perfect for all levels of skiers. The resort is well known for a large vertical that runs from 2,365m down to an impressive 1,150m. The majority of the resort’s ski terrain is below the tree line, creating plenty of opportunities for enjoying the large open green areas. For the more experienced skiers there is a double black diamond tree skiing slope in the Extreme Dream Zone. On top of this there are also some beginner trails and a couple of terrain parks to enjoy.
For Schools Because:
Much of the Panorama accommodation is ski-in ski-out or close to the lifts, which makes it a great location for schools as students don’t have to lug their gear around. Additionally, compared to many other famous North American ski resorts, Panorama is generally uncrowded. Modern grooming allows for year-round impeccable conditions, making it a brilliant school ski trip destination, as great ski conditions are guaranteed. Large sections of the terrain are well suited to intermediate skiers, including multiple wide cruising groomers, which are ideal for large school groups.
Après ski:
The scenic ski village of Panorama offers a lovely selection of restaurants, bars and cafés, perfect for the end of a long day on the slopes. The Mountain Hut Dining is a great spot for some food with a view, as it’s located at an impressive 2438m, and offers hearty cheese fondues with chocolate fondue for pudding. Panorama main post-ski attraction are the hot pools. These therapeutic pools are located in an open-air pool area which is a perfect way to relax and prepare yourself for more snow excitement tomorrow.
