Falcade Ski Resort - Experience the magic of the Dolomite slopes
The Resort:
The resort of Falcade is a skier’s paradise located in the centre of the spectacular Dolomites, in the Northern region of Italy, near the Austrian border. The village is nestled in the 20km long Valle del Biois at an altitude of 1,165 providing breathtaking views of the mountains all around, as well as the river Biois. With many old buildings, the resort has a warm and traditional feel that gives your group a classic ski experience. Falcade is also located in the Trevalli ski area providing great access to large piste areas.
Skiing in Falcade:
Falcade’s slopes are particularly good for Intermediate and Beginner skiers, with a 4km descent the highlight of the nearest pistes. As it is part of the Trevalli ski area, the appropriate ski passes allow the resort to offer access to 218km of downhill skiing, with 113 marked pistes that are easily accessible from the extensive lift network. The quality of slopes in the area is amazing, with all pistes carefully groomed leading to brilliant conditions. For cross-country ski enthusiasts there are multiple km’s of snow to explore. There are also boarding opportunities and a Snowpark for those in your group confident enough to try some tricks.
For Schools Because:
The Falcade ski area has the huge benefit of having large snow-making abilities, with 30 snow cannons covering 45km of piste, ensuring that even if the conditions aren’t favourable, your group is guaranteed time on the slopes. Snow cover is still reliable, however, as the ski lifts reach up to heights of 2,430m. Falcade is a fantastic choice for a school ski trip due to its quiet nature, snow-sure slopes, and range of piste. It will give all involved a classic Italian ski experience.
Après Ski:
The warm chalets that are dotted around the resort provide a cosy opportunity for a mid-day break or a warm meal at the end of a long day on the slopes. The 300 or so “Tabia” give the resort a unique charm. These are barns with haylofts that are great to relax in. For those with an interest, there is the Augusto Murer Museum which has many wood, marble, and ceramic features. The ice skating rink in the village is a great evening group activity or for those who want a break from the skis, snow tubing is on offer at some mountain lodges.
